The season of community fun runs and races is emerging as the green buds are pushing up through the soil. If you’re sponsoring or organizing a race, you’ll have many chances to advertise your business or cause from the moment of registration. Runners are often given a T-shirt and a swag bag for signing up. Sometimes there are expos with various vendors associated with the race. Runners will pass water and aid stations along the way and be treated to snacks at the finish line. Each one of these encounters is a fantastic opportunity to promote your organization. Give one or more of the traffic-building strategies below a try. |

Race fuel
The rehydrating and refueling needs of your runners are a crucial consideration when setting up aid stations. While water is sufficient for short races, snacks are also necessary for longer ones. Start by putting a New Balance® Hand Held Sport Bottle in their swag bag—it’s perfect because it straps to their hand and has a pocket for a car key. Be sure to stock all of your water stations with enough Bottled Water to go around. For longer races that require more substantial nourishment, Trail Mix Tasty Bites are a smart option. At the end of the race, runners can recover and replenish with personalized Kind® Bars. |

Swag-bag giveaways
Build on the excitement of picking up race packets at registration with thrilling gifts to commemorate the occasion. Your runners will gladly advertise their accomplishments—and your organization—with a Removable Euro Bumper Sticker. The race length is part of the imprint; choose from 5K, 10K, half marathon and marathon. If your business is sponsoring the race, advertise on a Running Shoe Soft Key Tag—the budget-friendly price and portability make it a promotional win. Racers can stash small essentials, such as their music player and car keys, in the Active Waist Belt. And the frog toggs® Chilly Pad Towels will get miles of usage with their magical cool-down technology. |

Recovery kits
Show them you care by helping to prevent and treat blisters, sunburns and soreness that are part of the running experience. Before the event, athletes can use the Pro-Sport Sunscreen and Lip Balm Kit to protect themselves from some of the inevitable sun exposure of an outdoor event. The Marathon Kit helps treat minor post-run aches and pains while the Reusable Hot/Cold Pack targets inflammation and soreness. The New Balance® Foam Roller offers a much-needed muscle massage when they get home. |

Race apparel
At almost every race, entrants receive a T-shirt for signing up. Be sure to choose an appropriate shirt for the event. The All Sport Performance Jersey T-Shirt is a moisture-wicking, antimicrobial option they can wear for running as well as gym training. Specialty cooling properties in the A4 Cooling Performance Tee make summer runs much more bearable. For a sportier look, the Colorblock Contender Tee offers several crowd-pleasing color combinations. For ladies-only events, take a non-traditional approach and offer screen-printed Energy Fitness Pants instead. |
